CaratCloud privacy policy

CaratCloud ("we", "us") makes software for small businesses from Panvel, Navi Mumbai. This policy explains what information we collect through caratcloud.in and the CaratCloud software, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What this website collects
- This website does not use cookies, ads or tracking tools, and it has no login.
- The "Book a free demo" form does not send anything to us or store anything. It only prepares a WhatsApp message on your phone; you choose whether to send it.
- Like every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short-term technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run the site securely and stop abuse.
When you contact us
- If you message us on WhatsApp, call or email, we receive what you share: usually your name, phone number, shop name and area.
- We use it only to reply, give you a demo, send a quote and support you. We never sell it or use it for unrelated marketing.
Data inside the CaratCloud software
- Shops that use CaratCloud enter business data such as bills, stock, customers, saving schemes, dues and girvi records.
- That data belongs to the shop. We store and process it only to run the software for that shop, keep it in secure cloud databases with access controls, and do not sell or share it with other businesses.
- Only the shop's own logins can see its data. Our team accesses it only when the shop asks for support, or when the law requires it.
- Customer reminders and passbooks are sent on WhatsApp only when the shop chooses to send them.
Services we rely on
- Vercel (website hosting), our cloud database provider (software data), and Google Fonts and Fontshare (website fonts, which receive your IP address when the fonts load).
- The website designs gallery shows live sample sites hosted on caratcloud-templates.vercel.app.
- WhatsApp (Meta) handles the messages you send us, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
How long we keep data
- Enquiry messages: as long as needed to help you, and no longer than two years after our last conversation.
- Software data: for as long as the shop uses CaratCloud. After a shop stops, we keep it for 90 days so it can be exported, then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer (for example GST records).
Security
- We use HTTPS everywhere, strict browser security rules, access controls and regular updates. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your data, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
Your rights
- You can ask us to show, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw your consent, or name someone to act for you. Write to caratcloud26@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days.
- If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
- Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
Changes and contact
- If we change this policy, we will update it on this page with a new date.
